Create assets in Dalux Handover

This article covers how to manually create an asset directly in Dalux. Before assets can be created, templates need to be made or imported.

This is done by the Handover administrator and is covered in this article: Templates and properties in Dalux Handover

Assets can also be created by importing them from Excel, COBie specifications or the BIM model on the project.

Creating assets

Assets can be manually created by going to

Handover Assets Add.

When creating a new asset, the name, work package, and template must be set.

When the 'Prepare assets' status is active, the status of newly created assets by Handover admins is automatically set as 'Draft'. If not, the status will be set as 'New'.

When the asset is created, it will open. From here the status can be changed and data can be filled in.

Supercomponents and subcomponents

It is possible to assign assets as a super- or subcomponent of another asset.

To do so, open an asset and scroll to the bottom of the window. Click on the -icon. From here it is possible to select whether the asset is a Supercomponent or Subcomponent.

A new window will open. Depending on whether you are assigning supercomponent or subcomponent. When selecting Subcomponents, one or more can be added.

If selecting a Supercomponent, only one can be selected.
