This article covers how to use QR codes for zones, rooms, or 3D objects. These QR codes can be used on-site with Dalux Mobile to quickly open a location and see the different registrations in it. QR codes can also open an object directly from the BIM model.

How to set up QR codes for Locations
User rights
Activation and generations of QR Codes can only be done by a project administrator or Field administrator. Every user on the project can scan and use the QR codes.
Activate QR codes for Locations
To activate QR codes for Locations, go to
Settings
Locations
Add features
'QR Codes'
Activate.

How to use QR codes with zones
Zones in Dalux are manually created and drawn in the various locations on the project. When scanning a QR code generated from a zone, Dalux Mobile will automatically open the zone and display all registrations and information saved in the zone.

QR Codes can be generated from the created zones on the buildings in the project.
To create QR codes from zones go to Settings

This opens a new window, where all the zones on the project are displayed. Filters can be applied to find the exact zones needed. One or more zones can be selected.
To generate the QR codes, select one or more zones and click Print.
Note that if you want to only print QR codes for the zones in your filtered result, you need to select them from the list, before clicking Print.

This will open a new window, where the print can be customized and previewed. It is possible to set whether to include labels for the zone name, level name, building name and any custom zone properties made when creating the zones.
Note that only three labels on the QR code can be added.
All the zones on the project can be printed by selecting 'Entire list'.
When done customizing the QR codes, click 'Print QR codes' to generate a PDF document with the QR codes.

How to use QR codes with rooms
Rooms in Dalux are automatically imported from the BIM model if rooms are used in the model.
QR Codes can be generated from the rooms in the buildings in the project.
When scanning a QR code generated from a room, Dalux Mobile will automatically open the room and display all registrations and information saved in the room.
To create QR codes from rooms go to Settings
Locations
QR codes - 'Rooms'.
If there is more than one building on the project, select the building you want to generate QR codes for.

How to use QR codes with 3D objects
QR codes can also be generated from 3D objects in the project. This requires setting up 3D object groups first. QR codes can then be generated for each 3D object in the 3D object group.
Note: You cannot generate QR codes for 2D objects.

When scanning a QR code generated from a 3D object, Dalux Mobile will automatically open the 3D model and locate the 3D object.

First, select the 3D object group, and if there is more than one building on the project, select the building you want to generate QR codes for.

This opens a new window, where all the 3D objects within the 3D object group in the building are displayed. Filters can be applied to find the exact 3D objects needed. One or more 3D objects can be selected.
To generate the QR codes, select one or more 3D objects and click Print.

How to scan QR codes in the Dalux Mobile app
To scan QR codes with Dalux Mobile, go to the More menu in the bottom right of the screen.
Then press Scan QR code. This will open the QR code scanner. When Dalux detects a Dalux QR code it will automatically open.
Whether the QR code is made from zones, rooms, or 3D objects they are all scanned from this menu.
