 User rights

Activation and setup for maps need to be done by a project administrator.

Note that when the map has been activated and set up, all users in the project have access to all the maps and can use them when setting a location for different registrations.

Activate the map

To activate the map, go to Settings Locations.

A map feature card is shown in this window. To activate the map feature, click 'Map 'Activate'.

The map feature is now activated and can be configured.

Project and map location

To configure the map, go to Settings Locations.

In the Map feature card, begin by setting the location for the map. This will be the project's location.

Note that if the project already has a location set in Project setup 'Project data', it will automatically be set as the location for the map.

If you change the location for the map, the project's location will also be updated.

The map will display the default position unless accessed on a mobile device with location permissions enabled. In that case, the map will show the user's actual location.

When setting a location, you can manually select it on the map or search for a specific address. The latitude and longitude are shown in the window.

The zoom level here also affects the default view in Locations.

 Technical information

Add a URL for a public Mapbox style or a WMS/WMTS GetCapabilities request to get a custom map layer. The custom map layer will be available on the map in Locations.

Now that the map is set up, you can use it in the Locations module. This feature can be helpful if you need to create registrations that are not related to drawings or models.
