This article will show you how to remove a user from a Dalux project so they can no longer access the project. How a user is removed entirely from the project, depends on your project setup and permissions in the project.

How to remove a user from the project
Before you start removing a user from different areas of the project, it is a good idea to check their permissions.
This is easily done by going to: Settings
Users
Contacts.

Every user on the project is shown in the Contacts window. You can then search for the user, by name, e-mail, and phone number.
If a user appears in the Contacts window they have access to the project.

As a project administrator, you can remove a user from the entire project in the Contacts window, by selecting the user from the list and clicking
Remove.
When doing so, you will be prompted to make sure you are certain:
This action is irreversible. If a user is removed from the project, they will need to be re-invited and granted permission, just as when inviting a new user.
Removing a user from a project does not delete their Dalux account, even if they only had access to one project.

If you only want to remove the user from specific areas of the project, you can view the user's permissions for the project. This is done in the Contacts window, by highlighting the user and clicking
Edit (or
View, depending on your role in the project).
This will show all the information for the user, including their user group(s), work package(s) and workflow(s), and Box folders.

How to remove a user from user groups
If you only want to remove a user from a user group, but not necessarily the entire project, you can read more in this article: User groups.
If you remove a user from a user group and they are not part of any other user group or workflow at the user level, they will also be removed from the project.
We always recommend using user groups for workflow roles, rather than individual users.
