As an architect or engineer, it is your responsibility to submit designs that align with the models created by other members of the design team and meet the overall level of quality. With Dalux, you no longer have to wait for feedback from the BIM coordinator. Instead, you can validate your model yourself and make changes immediately.
If you work with Autodesk Revit, we highly recommend using the Dalux Plugin for Revit. Otherwise, use the Dalux Desktop App to validate your uploaded model directly in the platform for quick feedback.
Model validation in Autodesk Revit
You can use the Dalux Plugin for Revit to validate your model directly in Revit without leaving the software.
To do this, download the plugin and install it by following these instructions.
While your model is open in Revit, access the Model validation feature from the toolbar and choose the building to which your model is associated.
Select your model and choose a pre-defined requirement you want to check for. This can be clashes, clearances, or metadata purposes.

The process is similar to the one with the Revit plugin.
Validation types
Dalux checks for three validation types. You can choose to review them solely for your design or for how it interacts with other designs in the project.
-
Clash: Two objects are in direct contact or overlap.
-
Clearance: Two objects must keep a minimum distance from each other.
-
Metadata purposes: The metadata of an object must exist or fulfill specific criteria.
In this example, the BIM coordinator for MEP checks the different requirements for info on the ventilation system:

After receiving feedback, you decide whether to make changes to your design and coordinate them internally, ignore the conflicts if they don't represent a problem, or create a comment to discuss with other design team members.
You can read more about these possibilities in this article: Model validation: How to perform checks.
