This article explains how to set up and use Design in Dalux.
If you are using manual publishing and file areas, Design can give you an environment within Dalux, where you can view and communicate on unpublished models and drawings.
In this environment, you can use model validation, comments, and other Dalux features to collaborate on models and drawing iterations across teams.

How to use Design
In Design you can work on unpublished and published versions of models, for instance in the design phase of the project or when making iterations on models during construction.
Navigation within Design works the same as within Locations - you can read more about using Locations in this article: Navigate in Locations on desktop.
Technical information
All buildings/structures/areas/maps are visible in Design, both from Files and Published files. However, if manual publishing is enabled, unpublished files can only be worked on in Design.
While using Design, you can:
- Use comments and communication channels
- Filter, measure and colorize
- Use model validation for clashes, clearances, and metadata
- Compare published and unpublished model files
You cannot make Field registrations (Tasks, checklists, etc.) on models or drawings in Design.
To access Design by clicking Design in the sidebar. While in Design you can change between the model files from the 'Files' and 'Published files' areas

When switching between the model files you view, filters and cuts will stay the same. This lets you quickly switch between models to see the changes made.
If you are on the Dalux desktop application, you can compare the latest versions of the model between the unpublished Files version and the version in Published files.
