Example data
You can download the example DWG drawings at the bottom of this article.
Original drawing
The first drawing we use in this example looks like this.
Extension
In case you need to add new rooms to the floor because of a building extension, you must draw them in the DWG drawing. Make sure to create new net areas and modify the existing gross area accordingly. Placing the room information on the correct layers within the new rooms is important.
Once you have created the new room in the drawing, it will automatically be added as a new room in Dalux FM.
Merge
When merging two rooms, delete the net area and room information from one of the rooms. Then extend the net area of the other room so that it covers the deleted room.
It is important to note that the room that was deleted in the drawing will also be deleted in Dalux FM.
Split room
If you need to divide an existing room into new rooms, you should first adjust the net area of the existing room only to cover the new area. Also, ensure that you move the blue grip square of text elements or blocks.
Next, create a new net area around the new room and add relevant room information as text elements or blocks.
The existing room will remain in Dalux FM but updated with the new area, while the new room will be created separately.
