This article will explain how to set up and use statuses in Dalux Box. Statuses Status in Box is a form of metadata for files in your project that need to be activated and can also be integrated with file areas and file flows. The feature is used to keep track of the status of your files.
Table of contents
The status metadata is closely tied with file areas and file flows as it can be used in the file flows as triggers and the status of a file can be set to change when it is approved/authorized.
If a file is assigned a specific status (e.g., ready for review), it can trigger a file flow, causing the file to change its status and initiate the review process. After the review, the file can be moved to another file area.
In addition, the status of files can be manually checked to see their progress between file areas, even if file flows are not being used. Moreover, the status metadata field can be customized according to your preferences, allowing you to set it up as desired.

For the file areas, you can choose between
- All areas
- Files/Shared files
- Published
If set to 'Files/Shared files' the status can only be set in those two file areas and it will not be possible to have files with this status in Published Files.
If set to 'Published' you will not be able to set this status when uploading files or when changing the status of files in Files or Shared files.
Thus, this status can only be selected when approving or authorizing a file.
